We did not set out to make three products. We set out to make one, and kept running into the same wall: the thing that calmed her skin did not strengthen it, and the thing that strengthened it did not calm it. Every honest answer to one question created a second question I could not answer with the same jar.

So the Ritual is three because the skin is doing three jobs, and asking one formula to do all of them well is how most of us end up with a shelf full of half answers. That is the whole reasoning. It took two years and a lot of failed batches to be able to say it in a paragraph.
