Every ingredient, considered.
Thoughtfully selected, specifically formulated for sensitive, eczema-prone skin.
Three ingredients that anchor The Ritual.
One ingredient runs through all three formulas. Two more anchor the work of Calm and Protect.
Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil
The through-line of The Ritual
Oat anchors The Ritual, chosen for its established role in dermatological care for sensitive, eczema-prone skin. Included in each formula, it is known for its calming and barrier-supportive benefits.
CalmSNAP Complex™
A proprietary calming blend
A signature blend of soothing oils, skin-supporting vitamins, and antioxidants. CalmSNAP Complexâ„¢ brings together four targeted ingredients to calm irritation, hydrate, and strengthen skin resilience.
Ceramide Complex
A multi-ceramide system
A multi‑ceramide barrier repair system featuring Ceramide NP, AP, EOP, and Cholesterol, formulated to replenish essential lipids, support moisture retention, and strengthen the skin barrier against everyday irritants.
Soothing
3 ingredientsAllantoin
Allantoin
A gentle skin-calming agent with a long history of use in dermatology. Helps reduce visible redness and supports the look of smooth skin during moments of irritation.
Colloidal Oat
Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil · Avena Sativa Kernel Flour
The most studied botanical for sensitive and eczema-prone skin. Oat appears in all three formulas in different forms because the science consistently supports it as both calming and barrier-supportive.
Part of CalmSNAP Complexâ„¢ in the Barrier Boosting Serum.Beta-Glucan
Beta-Glucan
Forms a soft hydrating film over the skin that calms reactivity and supports comfort. One of the gentlest soothing molecules in modern skincare.
Strengthening
6 ingredientsCeramide AP
Ceramide AP
One of the three ceramide species in our complex. Works alongside NP and EOP to rebuild the lipid matrix the skin uses to retain moisture and resist irritation.
Ceramide EOP
Ceramide EOP
Long-chain ceramide critical for the structural integrity of the skin barrier. Particularly meaningful in eczema-prone skin, where this species is often deficient.
Ceramide NP
Ceramide NP
The most abundant ceramide in healthy skin and the foundation of our complex. Restores what compromised barriers lack and helps lock hydration where it belongs.
Cholesterol
Cholesterol
A natural skin lipid that pairs with ceramides and fatty acids in the proportions skin actually uses. Without cholesterol, ceramides cannot form the lamellar structure barriers depend on.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide
Vitamin B3. Encourages the skin's own ceramide production while calming the look of redness. Featured above.
Part of CalmSNAP Complexâ„¢ in the Barrier Boosting Serum.Phytosphingosine
Phytosphingosine
A precursor to ceramides found naturally in the skin. Supports the formation and maintenance of a healthy lipid matrix and contributes to overall barrier integrity.
Nourishing
8 ingredientsBaobab Seed Oil
Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil
A fatty-acid-rich oil from the African baobab tree, prized for nourishment and softness. Brings vitamins A, D, E, and F to the formula and absorbs without heaviness.
Cetyl Alcohol
Cetyl Alcohol
A fatty alcohol derived from coconut or palm. Despite the name, it's not the drying kind of alcohol. It's an emollient that softens skin and gives the serum its characteristic glide.
Cetearyl Alcohol
Cetearyl Alcohol
A fatty alcohol blend that softens skin and gives the moisturizer its characteristic creamy feel. Well-tolerated by reactive skin.
Jojoba Seed Oil
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
Technically a wax ester and structurally similar to skin's own sebum. Absorbs easily, doesn't clog, and helps regulate moisture in skin that tends to be dry.
Mango Seed Butter
Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter
A rich, deeply softening butter that delivers fatty acids and natural antioxidants. Lighter than shea, with less risk of triggering sensitivity in atopic skin.
Rice Bran Oil
Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil
Rich in vitamin E, ferulic acid, and squalene. A gentle, antioxidant-dense oil used in pediatric skincare for centuries across East Asian traditions.
Squalane
Squalane (Plant-Derived)
A stable, plant-derived form of squalene, one of the lipids the skin makes naturally. Plant-derived squalane is gentle, fast-absorbing, and one of the most reliable emollients for sensitive skin.
Part of CalmSNAP Complexâ„¢ in the Barrier Boosting Serum.Sunflower Seed Oil
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
High-linoleic sunflower oil supports the skin barrier and is one of the few plant oils consistently recommended for atopic skin in dermatological literature.
Protective
3 ingredientsCetearyl Olivate
Cetearyl Olivate
Olive-derived emulsifier that creates a soft, breathable film on the skin. Works with sorbitan olivate to form Olivem, a system known for compatibility with sensitive skin.
Dimethicone
Dimethicone
A silicone that forms a breathable, non-occlusive film on the skin's surface. Helps protect against moisture loss and shields against irritants. Inert and non-comedogenic.
Sorbitan Olivate
Sorbitan Olivate
The partner to cetearyl olivate. Together they form Olivem, an olive-derived emulsifier system selected for its skin-compatible profile.
Adaptive Delivery
2 ingredientsPhosphatidylglycerol
Phosphatidylglycerol
A skin-identical phospholipid that supports moisture retention and helps the formulation behave more like the skin's own lipid system. Quietly improves how other ingredients interact with the barrier.
Safflower Oleosomes
Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes
Naturally occurring oil-storage spheres derived from safflower seeds. They encapsulate lipids in a phospholipid membrane and release them gradually as skin needs them, which is why the moisturizer feels light at first and replenishing over time.
Antioxidant
1 ingredientTocopherol
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Vitamin E. Defends against oxidative stress and helps preserve the integrity of the oil. A fundamental ingredient in any plant-based formulation for both function and stability.
Stabilizing
5 ingredientsCarbomer
Carbomer
A thickening polymer that helps create the moisturizer's smooth texture. Inert, non-irritating, and used at very low concentrations.
Dioctyldodecyl Succinate
Dioctyldodecyl Succinate
A lightweight ester that improves the texture and slip of the formulas. Helps ingredients spread evenly across skin without weight.
Polyglyceryl Esters
Polyglyceryl-10 Mono/Dioleate · Polyglyceryl-3 Oleate
Plant-derived emulsifiers that hold the serum together. Selected for their gentleness and biodegradability over harsher synthetic alternatives.
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate
A lactic-acid-derived emulsifier that improves the moisturizer's texture and spread. Skin-friendly and biodegradable.
Xanthan Gum
Xanthan Gum
A natural thickener derived from fermented sugars. Gives water-based formulas their pleasant texture without adding any irritation potential.

1,2-Hexanediol
A multifunctional ingredient that improves preservation while contributing to skin feel. Modern, gentle, and well-tolerated.
Pentylene Glycol
Pentylene Glycol
A multifunctional ingredient that hydrates while supporting preservation. Often plant-derived. A core part of our paraben-free preservation strategy.
Carriers
2 ingredientsButylene Glycol
Butylene Glycol
A small humectant that improves the spread of the formula and helps deliver actives evenly. Skin-friendly and well-tolerated.
Water
Water (Aqua)
The base of every water-soluble formulation. Nothing more, nothing less.
The list of exclusions matters too.
Some of the most common ingredients in children's skincare are also among the most likely to provoke reactivity in compromised barriers. We chose to leave them out.
Fragrance
A leading cause of contact dermatitis in children. We don't use synthetic or natural fragrance, including masking fragrance.
Essential Oils
Even botanically derived, essential oils are common triggers in eczema-prone skin. The risk outweighed the benefit.
Synthetic Dyes
Color contributes nothing to the work the formula does. We left it out.
Parabens
We use modern, gentle preservation systems instead. Effective, well-tolerated, and aligned with current safety research.
Sulfates
Harsh surfactants that strip the skin's natural lipids. Counterproductive in any barrier-supporting formulation.
Drying Alcohols
Denatured, ethyl, and isopropyl alcohols compromise the very barrier we're trying to strengthen. Not in any of our formulas.
